Construction of Smart Traffic Control and Guidance Systems

In response to smart city development, besides managing traffic signs for traffic control, a smart transport system also needs to closely integrate with the smart city. New-generation smart transport system emphasizes traffic control system optimization and big data analysis, as well as integration with the platform through data interchange with other departments (e.g., public transport, parking management, traffic safety, meteorology) to provide value-added services for smart traffic management, enhance traffic safety and promote smart travel management service. To plan and develop the AIoT-based new-generation smart transport system, the Kaohsiung City Government (KHCG) applied for s subsidy for the smart transport development and design project to the Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC) in 2020 for outsourcing the new-generation smart transport system planning. System planning was completed at the end of 2020 and Phase I of system construction followed suit. Contracting was completed in March 2021 and the project will be completed in April 2022.
