Comprehensive Supervision of MRT Operation

Comprehensively boosting KMRT passenger volume:

The Bureau worked in coordination with the large-scale activities (such as New Year's Eve events and concerts) organized by the city government, and improved shuttle bus services (the number of MRT shuttle bus routes increased to 44). With the combination of three aspects, namely shuttle services, activities and ticket options, the passenger volume of KMRT increases every year. The total number of passengers reached 250 million in June 2013. On average, there were 161,500 passengers daily in the first half of 2013, which was an 8.32% growth compared to 149,100 passengers in the first half of 2012. The number of passengers reached 470,000 in the New Year 2013, which hit a high record since the launch of MRT. The passenger volume reached 2,130,000 during the Chinese New Year.

KMRT has demonstrated excellent operational performance with zero major or general accidents throughout the year. It has met and exceeded the requirements of the service indicators, which comprise four major categories and 22 indicators, such as safety, promptness, comfort and service quality.
