G1S & G1N Buses Have Started Operation for Convenient LRT-to-Bus Transfer

Kaohsiung News In compliance with the operation of the Da Nan Loop of the Light Rail Transit, the Transportation Bureau of the Kaohsiung City Government has divided the original route of City Bus No. Green 1 into two downtown circular routesGreen 1 South (G1S) and Green 1 North (G1N). The two routes have started operation to help passengers shorten travel times, thereby providing rapid, convenient, and quality public transportation services.

According to the Transportation Bureau, G1S and G1N are operated on an alternate basis. Each line runs 35 trips per day, which adds up to 70 trips in total. The service hours are from 06:30 to 23:00. The service frequency is every 5 to 15 minutes during rush hours and every 15 to 30 minutes during off-peak periods. The fares are charged by mileage zones and are eligible for existing discount schemes, such as "free rides from the third ride onward in one day" and "discount for MRT-to-bus transfer."

Both G1S and G1N depart from Banana Pier and run along Wufu 4th Road and Wufu 3rd Road toward the intersection with Chenggong 1st Road. After that, G1N goes northward and runs along the route in the clockwise direction, while G1S goes southward and runs in the counterclockwise direction. The two buses will take passengers to major stops, including MRT Yanchengpu Station, Kaohsiung Girls' Senior High School, MRT City Council (Former Site) Station, Sanfong Central Street, Kaohsiung Senior High School, Kaohsiung Main Station, Howard Plaza Hotel Kaohsiung, MRT Sinyi Elementary School, Fuhwa Senior High School, Kaohsiung City Government Administration Center, MRT Sanduo Shopping District Station, FE21' MegA Department Store, 85 Sky Tower, and Hanshin Department Store. The public is encouraged to use the bus services.

G1 buses are electric low-floor buses and are therefore convenient for passengers with limited mobility. There is also free Wi-Fi onboard, providing Internet access to passengers during their rides. The Transportation Bureau encourages the public to download Kaohsiung iBus app on their phones, so that they can check real-time bus information without having to wait for buses.
