Dashun Bridge is closed for construction starting on March 16, 2019; road users are advised to make a detour

Kaohsiung - As part of the launch of Kaohsiung underground railway, the demolition of vertical infrastructure along the railway line has been underway. The Construction Office of Public Works Bureau will shut down Dashun Bridge for thirty days starting from March 16, 2019 in order to carry out the demolition work. Road users are urged to cooperate and make a detour.
According to the Transportation Bureau, the Construction Office of Public Works Bureau will demolish the structure of Dashun Bridge, and all vehicles are prohibited during the demolition of the bridge. Car drivers are advised to take Minzu Bridge or the frontage road of National Freeway No. 1 instead while scooter drivers may take the three newly planned alternative routes. Detour signs will be set up on adjacent roads as reminders for road users. Road users are also requested to follow the directions given by on-site traffic volunteers, so as to avoid the demolition site and save their valuable time.
In addition, city buses such as 0 South, 0 North, and No. 81 will take a detour via Minzu Bridge, while No. 37, No. 76, No. 77, 168 East, 168 West, and No. 8503 will take a detour via the frontage road of National Freeway No. 1 without stopping at the intersection of Sianjheng Road but will make an extra stop at Fude Market. The other stops remain unchanged. The bus travel time is estimated to increase by 15-20 minutes during off-peak hours and by 20-30 minutes during peak hours. Passengers are advised to take earlier buses and track arrival time using the Kaohsiung iBus app.
