Kaohsiung NewsTo achieve the “Good Life” goal of becoming a green city and encourage citizens to use public transportation more, the Transportation Bureau of Kaohsiung City Government launched a promotional campaign entitled “Use Public Transportation Every Day.” From October 1, 2020 to March 31, 2021, passengers who use iPASS for rides on public transportation modes in Kaohsiung, including buses, MRT, LRT, ferries, and YouBike, from Monday to Sunday will get NT$50 cashback each week. Moreover, those who register their iPASS numbers online are entitled to participate in biweekly and monthly lucky draws. The biweekly prize is 7-ELEVEN CITY PRIMA Specialty Cafe Latte, and monthly prizes include the newest iPhones, vouchers worth thousands of dollars, and more. The more you use public transportation, the greater your chances of winning.
The Director-General of the Transportation Bureau Chang Shu-Chuan pointed out that Kaohsiung City is the city with the largest variety of public transportation modes across Taiwan, including buses, MRT, LRT, ferries, YouBike, etc., providing citizens with various transportation options. To implement the “Good Life” policy, the Bureau launched a series of activities under the campaign of “Use Public Transportation Every Day” this year. Everyone is encouraged to use iPASS on Kaohsiung’s public transportation from Monday to Sunday to get NT$50 iPASS cashback every week. The Bureau also collaborated with 7-ELEVEN, so passengers who register their iPASS numbers online within the time frame of the campaign may get a chance to win CITY PRIMA Specialty Cafe Latte each time they use their iPASS on public transportation. Other prizes include the newest iPhones, vouchers worth thousands of dollars, and more. Moreover, the Transportation Bureau would donate NT$30,000 to the Syin-Lu Social Welfare Foundation to support vulnerable groups once the number of participants exceeds 10,000. Everyone is welcome to use public transportation every day to win prizes and do good deeds.
In addition to the “Use Public Transportation Every Day” promotional campaign, the Transportation Bureau also extended the well-received promotional schemes “Free Rides on YouBike for the First 30 Minutes” to March 31, 2021, and the “Discount on MeN Go Student Monthly Pass” to the end of December 2021. These schemes are designed to benefit students, encourage citizens to use public transportation, and create a better, convenient, and low-carbon transportation environment with the use of green energy.
For the “Use Public Transportation Every Day, and Get Cashback Every Week” campaign, citizens who use iPASS for rides on public transportation modes in Kaohsiung, including buses, MRT, LRT, ferries, and YouBike, from Monday to Sunday can get NT$50 cashback each week without the need to register iPASS online (limited to monthly passes and rides where payments are made; free travel passes and the first 30-minute free rides on YouBike are excluded). Starting October 16, citizens can check the eligibility for cashback on the official website of iPASS (https://www.i-pass.com.tw/ips/KHLP/UI/). Those who are eligible for the cashback may go to the information counter at an MRT station to get iPASS cashback two weeks afterward.
In terms of the “Use Public Transportation for a Chance to Win a Prize” campaign, citizens have to go to the campaign website (https://forms.gle/1wa6HfwzgzT1XwCh7) through the Transportation Bureau’s Facebook fan page to register iPASS numbers. During the campaign, those who use iPASS for rides on public transportation modes in Kaohsiung, including buses, MRT, LRT, ferries, and YouBike, will get a prize draw entry per ride (up to 10 entries a day per card). Apart from the biweekly prize, 500 cups of CITY PRIMA Specialty Cafe Latte, there are 50 kinds of monthly prizes, including the newest iPhones and gift vouchers. The more you use public transportation, the more lucky draw entries and cashback you would get.
