Director-General Chang Shu-chuan stated that to promote the Good Life policy and 2021 Chinese New Year activities of Kaohsiung City, the Bureau has launched 14 selected bus routes to Sanfeng Central Street, the most iconic New Year market in Kaohsiung City. In addition, the Bureau worked with bus service providers to introduce four themed buses that will show auspicious phrases on the LED headlights and be decorated with festive items inside and outside the buses. There will also be flash mob activities at places, including MRT Kaohsiung Main Station, MRT Houyi Station, Cueifong Road Bus Stop in Guomao Community, and Senior Citizen Services Center Bus Stop to promote taking public transport for holiday purchases. The mayor’s one-dollar-coin red envelopes, spring couplets, and Kaohsiung centennial memorial face masks will be handed out during the activities to bring the festive atmosphere to the public.
Wu Jin-chang, the chairman of Sanfeng Central Street Business Promotion Association, thanked the Bureau for carefully selecting 14 bus routes to the New Year market and providing 5,000 free bus vouchers. He encouraged people to take public transport via the 14 bus routes to Sanfeng Central Street, emphasizing that from January 30, people buying at the New Year market could ask for bus vouchers (limited quantity) from store owners. Each voucher allows one free bus ride on any of the bus routes operated by GD Bus, Han-Cheng Bus, Ubus, and South Taiwan Bus.
