Take Care of the Disadvantaged by Provide Two-fold Barrier-free Transportation
With the disabled population approximating 140,000 after the unification, barrier-free transportation vehicles, with extended wheelchair space, are actively introduced, and a barrier-free transportation environment is built, to meet the basic transportation needs of the physically and mentally disabled. The existing five low-floor buses and 30 rehabilitation buses have received good responses. It is expected that more low-floor buses and rehabilitation buses will be expanded continually to 100 each in the future as a basic target. It is through this two-fold way that the disabled citizens’ needs are met, so that they may settle in the city life smoothly and enjoy the city’s resources.
